	ISSUE 4, JANUARY 2000 Gibraltar visit the Isle of Man Hot on the trail of Petur Pettersen and Soffus Johannesen of the Faroe Islands who visited the Island in October, Linda Alvarez, Secretary of the Island Games Association of Gibraltar visited the Isle of Man early in November to book accommodation for her team in 2001. Luckily, many of our hotels stay open until the first week of November so Linda was able to complete her negotiations with local hoteliers. Apart from the larger hotels who stay open all year round the vast majority will now be closed until next Easter. Over the winter period, the Department of Tourism will be contacting all the hotels to discuss requirements for the 2001 Games and Islands will be able to book their accommodation during their scheduled visits in July 2000. It is hoped that most teams will be able to be accommodated in the Douglas area.
