Datacentre Provide
the
Right Result for Island Games
The Island Games Executive Committee has officially appointed Datacentre
to provide a bespoke results service for the NatWest Island Games, due to be
held on the Isle of Man in 2001. This appointment will provide the Games
with Datacentre's technical expertise. service and hardware and make the
IT company a major sponsor of the Games on the Isle of Man - now only twenty
months away! The new results system, which has been designed and written by
Datacentre software division and has already been tested over here at both
the national swimming and shooting championships.
Several other tests have been scheduled for the software next year (2000)
including the English School Swimming Association (E.S.S.A.) National
Championships which are being held in Douglas Isle of Man.
Web Site Development
Datacentre has also created a special information web site which, when
the games are up and running, will instantly publish the results from every
event. Jeremy Livesey, managing director of Datacentre said: "We are
delighted to play such a vital role in this important international event,
and look forward to working alongside the Island Games Executive committee
as the web site develops and the games get underway."
