to broadcast Live throughout the Games
The
Games Station 2001 will take to the air at seven o' clock in the
evening of Saturday 7th July for the openeing of the IXth NatWest
Island Games.
The dedicated station will broadcast for the entire event covering
every sport throughout the Island, with half hourly results service,
interviews, and live music programmes from the National Sports
Centre, and with eight commentators bringing you live reports
everyday, it really is the loud speaker for the event.
The Games Station will be broadcast on 1368 kHz medium wave, with
all daytime programming coming from a purpose built studio at
the NSC. All the events throughout the island willbe covered using
a series of transmitters and receivers throughout the Island giving
as much coverage as possible, and the presenters of the Games
Station will become part of the daily events.
On Saturday 14th July, The Games Sattion will close after the
closing ceremony, having broadcast for over 160 hours, covered
events from over 30 different locations, talked to competitors
from every Island, and brought the IXth NatWest Island Games to
everyone.
